Philips Arena to Open Doors Early Saturday for Hawks-Magic Game
Fans will be permitted to enter at 5:30 p.m., key Southeast Division contest set for start at 7 p.m., $1 food specials (hot dogs, popcorn and soft drinks) from 5:30-6 p.m.The Atlanta Hawks are recommending that fans arrive early for tomorrow’s (March 22nd) game against the Orlando Magic, as those with tickets will be able to enter Philips Arena at 5:30 p.m. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
Georgia Coalition to End Homelessnes: Metro Atlanta Tornado Recovery
Volunteers are needed to assist Metro Atlanta communities affected by this past weekend's severe storms and tornadoes with cleanup efforts. Homes, schools and other structures in these communities were severely damaged and are in need of repair. Additionally, debris is needed to be cleaned from streets, yards and other public spaces.
Presidential Disaster Declaration for Fulton County Issued
Governor Sonny Perdue today announced that President Bush has issued a Federal Disaster Declaration for individual assistance to aide residents of the City of Atlanta and Fulton County with recovery efforts in the wake of storms that hit the city on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15, 2008. The portion of Governor Perdue’s request covering government buildings and public costs due to the storms is still pending.
