Due to continued windy conditions and work being done to clear debris, all current street closures in the downtown area will remain in effect through this afternoon and most of the weekend.

Governor Perdue Signs Amended FY08 Budget
Today Governor Sonny Perdue signed into law HB 989, the Amended FY08 budget, and exercised his line-item veto authority to eliminate non-critical spending. Pointing to a softening economy and slowing revenue figures, Governor Perdue expressed concern that this budget exceeds his revised revenue projection.

Georgia DOT Reveals Plans for Widening and Reconstruction of Jonesboro Road
HENRY County –The public is encouraged to attend a public information meeting to discuss the Georgia DOT’s proposed plans for the construction of the proposed widening and reconstruction of Jonesboro Road in Clayton/Henry Counties. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 28, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Interstate 75 Lane Closure Near Exit 198
MONROE County – The Georgia Department of Transportation announces a southbound, single lane closure on Interstate 75, Monday, March 24 near Highfalls Road (County Road 277) at Exit 198. This lane closure is necessary for road resurfacing.
