Art Workshops:

Fused Dichroic Jewelry - with Gail Jensen One Day – 10 am – 4:30 pm MOVED MAY 10TH (SAT.) $125.00 plus $15.00 supply fee. Learn to create dazzling glass jewelry using dichroic glass. Learn about kilns, cutting, and fusing glass into stunning pendants, cabochons, earrings and more! Finishing, adhesives are all covered in this class. Gail Jensen As a young girl, Gail Jensen knew that a passion of art would follow her throughout her life. She was inspired by her mother’s artistic abilities in the field of pottery and mosaics. After earning a prior degree in fine arts, Gail attended a fused glass class in 1998 to satisfy her curiosity and was immediately hooked. She felt at home with the process of kiln-formed glass, as if she’d been waiting her whole life just to work in this medium. Since then, she has participated in numerous workshops throughout the country and strives to attend at least two per year. This constant source of inspiration, knowledge and technique has enabled Gail to fine-tune her glass art into her own distinctive style. Her work and studio have been featured in magazines and on HGTV’s television show “Look What I Did”. Wanting to give back to the glass community that has been so generous with information, Gail now teaches as well.

APRIL WORKSHOPS at the Fayette Art Center 770-631-2780

PRECIOUS METAL CLAY WORKSHOPS: SAT. April 19th $80.00 + $20 for materials. Make a sterling silver pendant or earrings. Earthworks Design was born from Peg’s need to create jewelry. In the spring of 2004, Peg studied with Dale “Cougar” Armstrong, an award-winning wire artist from Tennessee , and added prong-set gemstones and free-form wire sculpting of both cabochons and facetted gemstones to her inventory. Then came an introduction to Precious Metal Clay, or PMC for short. PMC is a mixture of minute particles of fine silver and organic material. When fired at high temperatures, the organic material burns off, leaving pure silver. Peg scrimped and saved, received a generous gift from friends, and in September 2006, entered the William Holland School of Lapidary Arts to study under world-renowned PMC-artist, Mary Ann Devos. Peg achieved certification as a PMC Artisan, and continues to grow and perfect her new art form.
