County Commission Chairman Jack Smith lost to former Peachtree City Mayor Steve Brown by a hefty margin, Brown - 53.24% to Smith - 46.76%. County Commissioner Eric Maxwell's lost by a slightly larger margin to newcomer Allen McCarty, McCarty - 54.26% to Maxwell - 45.74%. Smith and Maxwell were first term Commissioners.
Incumbent School Board member Bob Todd, Post 5, won easily against challenger Charlie Cave, 61.94% to 38.06%.
Sam Tolbert, Board of Education Post 4, took 100% of the vote as he had no opposition.
Turnout in the county was fairly light with only 27.89% of registered voters casting a ballot. There are 69119 registered voters in the county, 19276 cards were cast in the election.
