109 new members were inducted into the J C Booth Middle School National Junior Beta Club late last month at McIntosh High School. Club officers for the 2008-2009 school year were also installed during the candle lighting ceremony. Honors were given to those Beta Club members who had performed 20 or more community service hours within the last 12 months. In addition, the club presented the school's media center with a $500 check. To be eligible for the Junior Beta Club, students had to excel in their academics for two quarters during the school year. This brought the school's Beta Club membership to 249 students.
