Our bloggers talk about Sarah Palin

Mint Julep Journal:

Miz Vul, You ever watch them talking heads?
I've been listening to those so-called talking heads yakking on television about Sarah Palin. They need to get their heads out from where the sun don't shine! They're scurrying around trying to find some trash to talk about her just hoping to dampen the enthusiasm....

You call this change?
Will the real Democratic response please speak up? First Obama and Hillary say the anticipated snide remarks - which played even nastier coming on the heels of Palin's gracious mention of them and Ferraro in her speech. (I tell you, when I heard Palin's respectful mention of Hillary and Ferraro, I teared-up. I did.)

Wonder how Sarah Palin feels about Mint Juleps?
My goodness, that woman has done everything hasn't she? Eats mooseburgers, shoots guns, hunts, has five kiddos, has governed a state and been mayor of a city. She was a beauty contestant, winning something or other, and has that kick-butt spirit wrapped in syrup that so reminds me of a Southern gal...

What a Way to Celebrate Women's Suffrage
Hey Girls,
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: those Republicans sure do know how to celebrate and commemorate. I just heard McCain announce his running mate...

Toxic Treadmill:

Nothing Toxic About Sarah Palin
There's nothing toxic about Sarah Palin... unless you happen to be on "the other team". I can't remember when a choice made by any political party has so energized a group! I wasn't particularly involved when Geraldine Ferraro was picked as VP on the Democratic side so I can't compare this to then. It seems she was truly picked just to try and give a token...

JMac Politics:

Heard enough about Palin?
Ah well, too bad. Quit reading now if you're already tired of it all! I'm not...I posted a story from the McCain campaign on our Republican Candidate blog (and State & National News, and Republican News Sweep) earlier. Someone commented that McCain had just put an inexperienced woman a heartbeat from the Presidency, and then said some wonderful things about McCain's mental abilities that weren't very nice so I couldn't post it...

More on Sarah Palin
I know I posted something earlier, but now I've been listening to some of the talk and hype... It is an electric pick! My favorite quote from a commentator (not exact) was "she knows how to eat a mooseburger and shoot a gun." ...

Go McCain! Sarah Palin is a GREAT choice!
I am so thrilled to hear McCain is picking Sarah Palin. She is a fantastic choice. Bet that one shocks the political scene.

Republican Candidates:

"A Reform Ticket"
"For starters, we'd say Governor Palin's credentials as an agent of reform exceed Barack Obama's." -- The Wall Street Journal

McCain Picks Sarah Palin, Alaska Governor as VP
U.S. Senator John McCain today announced that he has selected Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to be his running mate and to serve as his vice president....

-----

We probably missed a few posts about Presidential Candidate John McCain's pick of Sarah Palin for his Vice President! We're steering clear of politics on here as when we asked if you wanted us to continue, no one said yes. We have quite a few political blogs going, all are hopefully respectful in large part! If you'd like to check them out visit www.FayetteFrontPage.com and scroll down the right side to see a listing of blogs.

Wondering where we've been?

Thanks to those of you who've asked what happened to the newsletter! We've been adding news to all of our blogs and to the main sites as usual, just had our heads to the grindstone and a bit short handed so the newsletter has suffered!

We're in the midst of launching two new websites: www.ArtsAcrossAmerica.com (which has some info on it, much more to come) and the Coweta Front Page (site isn't active yet so we won't provide a link).

News is overflowing in our inboxes, story ideas are building up and videos are languishing as we try to get the new sites up and running.

We hope you'll stick with us as we go through this latest round of growth! We greatly appreciate our loyal readers, you are helping to spread the word and our readership has doubled, yes doubled, just in the past month! Wow. It wouldn't be right not to thank our great advertisers who help keep the computers running and the phones in service, too! We love it that you are calling us, wanting to be part of the Front Page family --- we'll do all we can to support your business and help you grow, too.

Just as an aside for anyone interested in advertising, we're giving three-fers at the moment. Get an ad on the Fayette Front Page and we'll give you two courtesy ads on any of our other sites or blogs! The choices are almost unlimited given the fact that we now have well over 50 blogs plus Arts Across Georgia and the Georgia Front Page. Give Ann a call and talk to her about the choices (404-405-8180 or ann@fayettefrontpage.com).

Naturally Fayette: Hummingbirds in Fayette

Each year we see what appears to be three separate "batches" (for lack of a better term coming to mind) of hummingbirds. Each has distinct habits and it's easy to tell when they've moved on and changed regimes! They grab "their" territory and defend it heartily... Click to read: Hummingbirds in Fayette

Question for our newsletter readers...

Typically we're posting links to stories we've added on the main Fayette Front Page site and the various blogs associated with the Fayette Front Page (we have 50 blogs at last count) in the newsletter.

Due to the way we're handling the newsletter, you sometimes have to click twice to get to a story. One time you'll go to a blog, the next to the main site.

We're considering just posting the entire story on the newsletter so you don't have to click. The problem for us is that if you're just reading the newsletter and not going to the main site or blogs, we don't get "credit" for traffic and our advertisers (who pay the bills ;-) don't get seen by those of you reading the newsletter.

At a minimum, we'd need to add some advertising to the newsletter because we want to keep both our readers and our advertisers happy.

We'd like your thoughts. We'd also like to know if you would like to see everything we're including on the blogs and main site, or just what we're including on the main site... or just select articles like we have been posting.

If you have a minute, please send an email and let us know how to improve our newsletter and your preference on the areas mentioned above. We're adding new readers every day!

Thanks for reading the Fayette Front Page, the Georgia Front Page, our blogs and this newsletter!

JMac Politics: Tough Times

The Fayette County Commission has frozen somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 to 25 jobs this year. I just received a notice from Gwinnett that they've initiated a hiring freeze and expect to save roughly $45 million in a 12 month period. We know Atlanta is having problems, seemingly much of it due to their defined benefit program compounded by the current economic difficulties. The state is in trouble for the first time in quite some time. Not too long ago they had a surplus they were arguing about. Now they're in the hole... Click to read: Tough Times
